Not Just a Dad
John Felageller is a single special needs father who seeks to support other parents, specifically dads,
through his motivational and uplifting blog posts, live speaking engagements, and a variety of interviews he has done.
He also works directly with dads in his local area to provide mentorship and support.
John Felageller is the father of a child with autism and an advocate in the special needs community. With compassion and wisdom born of experience, he speaks directly to dads who are navigating an unexpected journey. His voice is a welcome and necessary companion for fathers who want to grow in faith as they help their children and their families reach their full potential.
John is one of the leading voices in the church calling attention to the challenges and struggles of fathers raising children with disabilities. In an area of ministry largely directed by women, John provides wisdom and encouragement from a perspective men can relate to.
John Felageller writes and speaks into a deep void: the infrequently noticed but critical role of special needs father. Honest, often raw and very personal, John’s insights into the joys and struggles of special needs dads provide more than just a glimpse into his life: he also provides a window into the personal way God reveals His heart through the lives of special needs families.
John Felageller is first and foremost a Christ follower who is also a special needs dad. John understands what life is like for families with special needs and does an amazing job of sharing his wisdom through his writing and in person through his speaking engagements. Like many parents with children with special needs, John is a single parent and can relate with many of the same struggles that many families face everyday. John can bring warmth, encouragement, understanding, and wisdom that will help you find how to make it through not just the next five minutes but make it to the next day, week, month, and year! John is a recurring speaker for the Wonderfully Made Conference and especially brings the much needed voice of dads into the special needs arena!
John doesn’t come along side families impacted by special needs as an outsider offering advice. John has personally lived it. He communicates in a real and transparent way about his own family’s special needs journey and this serves to encourage families in their day to day struggles, allowing them to find hope and to feel understood.
